This is a pale brick building, which has a half solid brick frontage, with three long small windows, and the other half with five square plllars in front of double-height windows and the entrance. There are two benches and two trees visible in front of the building, along with disabled parking spaces.

The first patients are receiving appointments for imaging and scans at a brand new, purpose-built facility at James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, ahead of its official opening on Wednesday 24 July.

James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Community Diagnostic Centre is the first of three new outpatient imaging buildings at each of the three hospitals in Norfolk and Waveney to open, and will offer access to new MRI and CT scanner equipment, as well as X-ray and Ultrasound imaging.

The Community Diagnostic Centres have been constructed following an £85.9 million capital investment from the Department of Health and Social Care, and will be used to improve access to diagnosis and monitoring of a very wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, respiratory diseases, trauma, musculoskeletal diseases, and neurology.

The James Paget’s Community Diagnostic Centre, situated on the main hospital site, adjacent to the Louise Hamilton Centre, will be offering Ultrasound, X-ray, CT and MR scanning spread over six days a week, with appointments made between Sunday and Friday, and with the Centre open 8am to 8pm for X-ray and 8.30am to 8.30pm for all other areas.

The Centre will primarily focus on outpatient and GP referrals for imaging, with the hospital’s existing imaging department focusing on inpatients and emergency patients.

Patients with appointments at the new Centre will be informed via patient letters from the department.
