A group of patients and carers who use services at our Louise Hamilton Centre have recently taken part in a new therapy course.
Journey Through The Field Of Art is a ten week interactive therapy course, designed for those living with life limiting conditions, and family carers, to help introduce the benefit of therapeutic art and enhance well-being.
The course aims to support patients and carers who may never have met to come together and enjoy art.
Lorenzo Barron, the facilitator of the course, says; “It’s beneficial to all, healing the hearts and minds of those patients and carers”.
Course participants were given a starter pack of water colour paints and water colour pencils to continue their art journey. The group have enjoyed their course and have become friends and have decided they are going to meet weekly to continue their art.
The course has been funded through fundraising efforts and two donations - one of which came from a previous participant of the course, the other from a person who visited the Louise Hamilton Centre and saw the benefit it made to the individuals.
The next course is due to begin in September.
