A local family have generously donated a haul of chocolate Easter eggs to our children’s ward and The Cove clinic so that young patients who have to come into hospital over Easter can enjoy them.
Amy and Matt Plummer wanted to say thank you to the ward and brighten up Easter for those who may have to stay with us over the bank holiday.
Their little girl, Betsie, was born prematurely at 26 weeks and spent the first three months of her life in hospital.
Amy says; “Betsie is now three but, during the last three years, she has been admitted into the children’s ward countless times. Because of her prematurity her lungs are much weaker and she often needs a bit of extra medical support to help fight off the viruses that she has picked up. Whilst we were in hospital recently the care Betsie received, like on all the previous admissions, was outstanding, and as a thank you, we wanted to gift Easter eggs to the ward.”
On Tuesday the family came along to hand over dozens of eggs which will be shared between the children’s ward and our children’s clinic to pass on to patients.
Maxine, our Charity Manager, received the eggs on behalf of the team and said; “It is really kind of you to think of our young patients. The eggs are guaranteed to put smiles on faces over Easter and we know they will be really well received. Thank you for you generosity and your support.”
