There are more than 350 clinical and non-clinical roles in the NHS. Whether you are interested in maintenance, administration, management, finance, communications, catering, or a role in one of the clinical services, the NHS has a career that could be suitable for you.

Different skills gained from serving in the Armed Forces can be linked across to different roles within the NHS. Also it’s not just the skills you have, but the experience and core values that matter too. The NHS values transferable skills such as teamwork, problem solving and communication that are a part of military life.

At the James Paget we support the Armed Service Community by advertising our jobs on Career Transition Partnership and working with Step Into Health to help mentor those who want it through the job application process.

We also have the guaranteed interview scheme for service leavers. Any individual leaving the armed forces who applies for a job at the trust will be guaranteed an interview as long as they meet the essential criteria.

Anyone leaving the service, but is unsure about their transferable skills can contact our Armed Forces Advocate;
