The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO)

If you are not happy with the outcome of your investigation, you have the right to take your complaint to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman for their opinion.  The PHSO is independent of the government and the NHS.  The service is confidential and free.  They will only consider your case if it has first been investigated by the Trust.  If you wish to refer your complaint to the PHSO, you should do so within 12 months of logging your complaint with the Trust.  The PHSO may waive the time limits if they consider there is a good reason to do so.
