Shaving and waxing for Neonatal

The Tavern pub in Belton hosted a shaving and waxing event that resulted in more than £1,000 being raised for our Neonatal Unit.

Andy Yildiz bravely said goodbye to his very long beard and Kevin Comer decided leg waxing wasn’t painful enough… so ended up getting most of his body waxed as well to raise extra money. They then visited the Unit to hand over £805 of the total plus items from the ward’s wish list which they purchased with the rest of the amazing amount raised.

The Neonatal Unit is very close to both Andy and Kevin’s families hearts after both their daughters were looked after on the ward and they wanted to give something back to all the staff, and support families using the Unit in the future.

The King Alfred raises £1,000 for the Sandra Chapman Centre

Regulars at The King Alfred pub in Burnt Hill Way, Carlton Colville, stepped up to the oche at a darts fund-raising evening, organised by Aaron Smith and his family, that helped raise £1000 for our Sandra Chapman Centre.

The darts evening raised £850 – but this was rounded-up to a £1000 thanks to the generosity of the landlord of the King Alfred and Alfie’s pub Dean Bunn, who also supported the event by providing the function room.

Lowestoft Lions donations
Lowestoft Lions regularly support our hospital. Lions Club Secretary Derek Ward recently visited to present a wheelchair to the team at our Sandra Chapman Centre, in memory of the late Peter and Ann Mitchell who had both received care from the team at the Centre.
Mr Ward also presented a cheque for £1,200 from Lowestoft Lions to our hospital charity, half of which came from the Mitchell family, which will help several departments and services in the hospital, including our Department of Medicine, our Phlebotomy team and our Dermatology team. The donation will also fund the purchase of a projector which will be used to help with the aftercare of patients who have suffered a stroke or have dementia.
Plumbase continue their support

Steve and the team at Plumbase in Great Yarmouth are regular supporters of our hospital charity.

Their latest donation came just before Christmas when Steve visited the hospital to hand over a cheque for £1555, money raised throughout the year through various events, supported by Plumbase customers.

Plumbase support the Trust’s annual ‘Paget’s People’ staff awards – and some of the money raised will go towards helping with next year’s event.
