Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit
The James Paget University Hospital Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit cares for patients in Great Yarmouth and Waveney that are having problems up to 12 weeks and 6 days gestation of pregnancy.
Patients may have either pain or vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. They will have an assessment by the nurse which may include an Ultrasound scan and the appropriate care and treatment will be planned for the patient.
The unit is staffed by a small nursing team of nurses with experience in Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Loss. Some of the nursing staff are also qualified to perform the Ultrasound scan for the patient.
