Heart Health events

Thursday 09 October 2025

10am to 3pm

Market Gates shopping centre, Great Yarmouth

Two heart health events are being held this week – one in Great Yarmouth and the other in Lowestoft - and you’re invited to come along.

The local events, which will be held in Lowestoft on Wednesday 8 October and in Great Yarmouth on Thursday 9 October, follow the success of a day at The Forum in Norwich earlier this year, where local health agencies teamed up with Pumping Marvellous, the national heart failure charity, and other organisations, to offer heart health advice and screening. More than 450 people were screened during the day, which aimed to identify and help potential undiagnosed heart failure and atrial fibrillation patients.

In Lowestoft, the event will be held at the Waterlane Leisure Centre, in Water Lane, NR32 2NH, on Wednesday 8 October between 10am and 3pm. In Great Yarmouth the Market Gates Shopping Centre, NR30 2BG, will host the heart health session on Thursday 9 October, also between 10am and 3pm. The venues have been chosen as both are accessible via local buses as well as having parking nearby.

On the day there will be a number of health professionals available to help with screening, and things such as a blood pressure check and ‘quick look’ ECG will be offered.

The Pumping Marvellous Foundation is the UK’s patient led heart failure charity. It was founded by a heart failure patient and offers support to patients and carers, along with events to detect those who are undiagnosed. You can find out more about their work on their website here; https://pumpingmarvellous.org/
