A team from Morgan Sindall Construction has started work on transforming our Sandra Chapman Centre garden, which will include replacing paving slabs and a pergola.
Morgan Sindall Project Manager Ben Virdee and his colleagues have been liaising with our Centre – which supports patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions, including blood disorders and cancers – to see what they could do as a goodwill gesture, free of charge, to assist patients and staff.
The team at the Centre identified that it would be nice to tidy the garden area and Morgan Sindall decided to go a step further to refurbish the external seating area and replace key items including the slabs and the pergola. All plants and items donated in memory of patients will remain in place.
Ben said; “With the assistance of our supply chain, and LDD, we will remove the existing paving slabs and replace them, replace the rotten pergola with a new one similar to the original, repair any damaged guttering, and prune existing plants as appropriate before planting some new items. It is just a little something to give back to patients and staff to recognise the truly amazing service that the Sandra Chapman Centre provides.”
