Emergency department work continues

16 November 2020

Work continues to expand our Emergency Department and tomorrow, Tuesday 17, and Wednesday 18 November there will be some changes to parking arrangements as modular buildings are delivered to the front of the hospital.

A large mobile crane is being positioned outside our A&E for two days from early on Tuesday. It will be used to lift new modular buildings from large lorries and trailers which will need to park in car park A, our main public parking area.

Trust staff will assist with a partial closure of car park A and will direct patients attending the site, advising drivers where to park.

The new modular buildings are being transported from Hull via the A47. As they are wide loads, their delivery to the hospital may result in some traffic delays on the A47. Lorry arrivals are being staggered to reduce the likelihood of traffic congestion at A47 junction.

Access to the temporary A&E ambulance entrance will be maintained throughout all works.
