Charity calendars go on sale to raise funds for our Robot Appeal

06 November 2023

Maxine, our Charity Manager, stands holding three of the calendars, with photos of sunrises and sunsets visible on the slim calendars.

A 2024 calendar to raise funds for the James Paget University Hospital surgical Robot Appeal is on sale from today, Monday 6 November.

The calendars – which feature scenic local landscape photographs, taken by, and provided courtesy of, Patrick Chilvers – will go on sale with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the appeal and, if you’re looking for a little Christmas gift for a friend or family member, the calendars will be available for just £9.99.

You’ll be able to purchase these from businesses and locations in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, including Mocha coffee house in Regent Street,  Arcade Florist in Northgate Street, Donnatella’s, The Hair Base and Just Designed in Gorleston High Street, and the James Paget main reception and charity office, or please contact Maxine.Taylor@jpaget.nhs.uk or telephone 01493 453348 to reserve your copy.

A number of local businesses have supported the project through advertising and sponsoring a month on the calendar and the money raised through this will also go to the Robot Appeal.

The James Paget is currently trying to raise £1.6 million to purchase a surgical robot, which will allow experienced surgeons to perform surgeries through smaller incisions and with greater precision, bringing many benefits for patients.

Victor Ling of Barkers Photos, one of the companies who are advertising on the calendar, said; “We are pleased to be supporting the calendar for the Robot Appeal. Everyone living in the local area will have cause to use the James Paget for either themselves or a loved one. As a local business we use the best tools for the job, and we think it is important that surgeons have the same.”
