A rainbow baby is a term for a child born to a family that has previously lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or death during infancy.
As a rainbow appears in the sky when sunlight comes through after a dark time, a rainbow baby can signify hope and beauty following a loss, but can also mean a range of emotions for parents.
Our Rainbow Service aims to support those who have experienced loss and who are now expecting a rainbow baby.

Every year the James Paget holds a Starlight Service to remember the precious children that have been loved and lost. This is organised by our chaplaincy team and is usually held on the first Sunday in December each year.
