Northgate Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is a standalone facility, located on the Northgate Hospital site in Great Yarmouth, approximately six miles away from the James Paget hospital in Gorleston.
It opened in August 2025 and was developed to improve accessibility for patients across Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas.
Northgate provides a broad and expanding range of diagnostic tests and pathways, including:
- CT scanning
- Echocardiography (Echo)
- Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Holter monitoring
- Liver FibroScan
- Sleep study clinics
- Breathlessness pathways, incorporating:
- Lung function tests
- FeNO testing and field tests
- Spirometry
- CO monitoring
- Colon capsule endoscopy pathway
Patients referred for CT scans and other diagnostic tests may now be invited to appointments at Northgate CDC as an alternative location to scans provided at the main James Paget Hospital site in Gorleston.
Further new services may be added in due course, in response to patient and healthcare needs. The aim is to give patients an alternative to travelling into the James Paget, and to support earlier diagnosis and intervention.
In addition to convenient parking on site, Northgate CDC is accessible via public transport.
Please see below for a site map, including the location of the bus stop on Northgate Street and parking information. Northgate offers patients free and accessible parking.
