The James Paget has again secured the Carer Friendly Tick Award, to demonstrate its commitment to partnership working to identify and support unpaid Family Carers.
Applications for the Award are made to the Caring Together Charity and are then assessed by a panel of carers, ensuring a meaningful accreditation that reflects best practices in carer support.
Amanda Hood, Head of Patient Experience and Engagement, said; “The accreditation must be renewed every two years to ensure that carer awareness and support is embedded and continues within the organisation, and we’re delighted to say that the James Paget has again achieved this.”
The hospital has an on-site Family Carer Advisor, Emma Jones, and she can provide support and signpost carers to a range of other services. You can read more about the assistance available here; https://www.jpaget.nhs.uk/patients-visitors/carers-information/
Our Louise Hamilton Centre also provides crucial support to patients and carers. You can read more about the Centre and the services it provides here; https://www.jpaget.nhs.uk/departments/louise-hamilton-centre/
