Paget staff recognised for scholarship research work

Four James Paget staff have been recognised for their research work, undertaken as part of a scholarship programme which aims to support projects to enhance healthcare.

The James Paget Research, Evaluation and Quality Improvement scholarship programme celebrated its fourth cohort at an event hosted at the East Anglian Air Ambulance HQ at Norwich Airport on Tuesday 10 June.

Those accepted onto the programme have one day a week away from their normal role in order to work on a project to research improvements within their area. The scholarship provides funding to support the project and to backfill their role.

This allows for personal development of the individual, builds research readiness into the healthcare workforce - both clinical and non-clinical – and gives time to see how changes in the workplace may positively affect patient care or how the hospital does things.

To date four cohorts have included 47 scholars from over 20 organisations including NHS, charities, social care and councils.

The James Paget staff who were recognised at the event are pictured below. They are;

Ashima Beena, a RAAC Engineering Support Worker with our Estates Capital Planning Team, whose project was ‘Building a sustainable healthcare future; Enhancing waste management infrastructure in an NHS Trust’

Christina Doyle, an Operating Department Practitioner, who researched ‘Making the invisible, visible: Organisational readiness and professional parity of opportunity for developing new roles/advancing clinical practice’

Katherine Mackintosh, a Clinical Research Nurse who evaluated the organisational preparedness of three East Anglian research departments to implement the results sharing requirements of the Medicines For Human Use (Clinical Trials) (Amendment) Regulations 2024

Hannah Baldry, a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist, who researched ‘Physical milestones traffic light guidance: Developing an online resource to empower families and professionals to support children of two with delayed physical milestones’.
