The Breast Care Unit offers a wide range of breast benign and cancer treatments including state of the art diagnostics, specialised surgery, and chemotherapy treatment.

Cardiology
The Cardiology Department provides a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient service, carrying out a wide range of diagnostic tests and complex treatments on adults with heart disease.

Charnwood Suite (Private Patients)
The Charnwood Suite provides private inpatient accommodation.
Children and Young People's Services
Children and Young People's Services are based in Ward 10, in The Cove, our children's clinic, and at the Newberry Centre.

Clinical Measurement provides various tests for investigating the heart.
Colorectal nursing team
As specialist nurses we provide clinical expertise, information and support to patients undergoing investigations and treatment for colon and rectal cancer.
Communications & Media
We provide communication and media services to the Trust, providing information to patients, the public, the media and our staff.
Critical Care Outreach Team
The Critical Care Outreach Team are nursing staff who have many years experience in the care of acutely ill patients.
Day Care Unit
Our Day Care Unit caters for patients undergoing day-case minor surgical procedures and operations.
Dementia Care
Our Dementia Care team are committed to providing services that are dementia friendly.
Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine provides outpatient consultations for services including cardiology and general medicine.
Dermatology
The Dermatology department offers a variety of outpatient services including diagnosis, treatment and follow up care for skin cancer.
Diabetes
We provide clinical advice and services to patients with diabetes.
Dietetics
Dietetics is a small team made up of dietitians, dietetic assistant practitioners, dietetic assistants and a dietetic secretary, who assist patients across the hospital.
Ear, Nose and Throat
The service is for patients with problems regarding Ear, Nose and Throat.
Early Intervention Team
The Early Intervention Team works across our emergency floor and is made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistant Practitioners.
Emergency Assessment and Discharge Unit (EADU)
The Emergency Assessment and Discharge Unit (EADU) team looks after all acute medical patients whose condition necessitates hospital specialist review and therapies.
Emergency Department - A&E
Our Emergency Department (ED) - also known as A&E - treats more than 80,000 patients a year and provides emergency services and care for the wider community.
Endoscopy Unit
The Endoscopy Unit is a JAG accredited purpose built unit supporting outpatient and inpatient endoscopic procedures.
Epilepsy Services
Our Epilepsy team provides services to patients with epilepsy.

Facilities Management provides a range of services including catering and portering.
Fertility Services
This is an NHS Secondary fertility service providing help and support for couples who have difficulty in achieving a pregnancy.
Gastroenterology
Gastroenterology is the department that specialises in the digestive system, which consists of gastrointestinal – stomach and intestines – and hepatological (liver, gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas) diseases.
General Surgery
General surgery includes Colorectal, Upper Gastrointestinal, Breast, Laparoscopic, Day, Emergency and General Paediatric Surgery. In addition, visiting surgeons provide expertise in Vascular Surgery.
Gynaecology
The Gynaecology department provides services including Colposcopy and Hysteroscopy.
Haematology
The Haematology department diagnose and treat a wide range of blood disorders.
Head and Neck
The Head and Neck team comprises of differing specialties, specifically dedicated to the treatment of Head and Neck cancers.
Health Records
The Health Records department is responsible for patient health care files.
High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Our High Dependency Unit (HDU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) look after critically ill patients.
Hyperbaric Chamber
The James Paget Hyperbaric Chamber is one of a small number in the country with a Category 1 status, which means we can ventilate and monitor critically sick patients whilst receiving oxygen therapy.
Infection Prevention and Control
Our Infection Prevention and Control team provide specialist advice, guidance, support and education regarding infection control within the Trust.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) team at the James Paget provides a comprehensive range of general and specialist clinical services for patients with a diagnosis of IBD.

Information Governance (IG), is the set of multi-disciplinary structures, policies, procedures, processes and controls implemented to manage information, supporting an organisation's immediate and future regulatory, legal, risk, environmental and operational requirements.
IT - Digital Health
Our IT department, also known as Digital Health, are responsible for the development, implementation, and support of the IT systems, services, and infrastructure across the Trust.
Learning Disabilities and Autism
Our Learning Disabilities and Autism team are committed to providing a responsive service that recognises the needs of those patients who may be disadvantaged in accessing care and treatment.
Louise Hamilton Centre
The Louise Hamilton Centre provides services for people with life limiting and progressive illness, their families and carers.
Lung Cancer - Respiratory Oncology
The Lung Cancer - Respiratory Oncology - team are a group of health professionals that have expert knowledge and experience in treating individuals with lung cancer or Mesothelioma.
Maternity Services
Our Maternity Service team provide care for women, birthing people, and families before, during and after birth.
Medical Illustration
Medical Photography and Illustration services provide recording of clinical conditions presented by patients, working in a photographic studio, clinic, ward or operating theatre environment.
Neonatal Unit
The Neonatal Unit provides care for premature and sick babies over 30 weeks gestation.
Newberry Child Development Centre
The Newberry Child Development Centre aims to provide high quality, effective, safe and efficient healthcare services for children, from infancy to adolescence, who are vulnerable due to additional needs, complementing both primary care and acute paediatric services.
Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff work together in integrated specialist teams to provide therapy services for patients.
Ophthalmology
Our multi-disciplinary Ophthalmology team provides comprehensive eye care services with state-of-the-art facilities and using the latest techniques.
Oral Surgery
Oral Surgery provide a service for patients who need an expert opinion or treatment for conditions concerning the mouth.
Orthopaedics
Orthopaedics offer specialist treatments for a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Orthotics
Orthotics provide an efficient orthotic service and supply suitable orthoses to meet individual patient requirements.
Pain Management
We offer a variety of treatments and services to patients who have acute (new) or chronic pain, whatever the cause of that pain might be.
Palliative Care
Palliative Care provide advice and support for patients who have any life limiting illness, or progressive illness - and for their families, and/ or their formal and informal carers - when they come into the James Paget University Hospital.
Pathology - Laboratory Services
The James Paget Pathology team process laboratory tests for inpatients, including essential Blood Sciences (Biochemistry and Haematology).
Pharmacy
The Pharmacy department offers a comprehensive pharmaceutical service, supplying and ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines as well as providing information about medicines to both hospital staff and patients.
Plaster Services
Our Plaster Services team treat patients with a range of conditions, from fractures to congenital birth defects. Qualified technicians apply and remove a vast range of casts in plaster of paris and resin, as well as surgical appliances and bespoke items.
Pre-Operative Assessment
Pre-Operative Assessment assess all adult patients having planned surgery under general, spinal or regional anaesthetic and, on average, assess 200 patients per week.
Private patient information
In addition to NHS services, the James Paget also provides facilities for private patients.
Procurement
The Procurement team support the purchasing of everything that is needed across the hospital - from stationery to medical supplies - as well as overseeing major contracts.
Radiology
Radiology provide X-ray, CT, MRI and Ultrasound scans and scanning
Renal Unit
Our Renal Unit is primarily a haemodialysis unit providing dialysis for approximately 100 patients.
Respiratory
The Respiratory nursing team is a group of nurses with special qualifications/training and skills with many years’ experience of caring for individuals with a variety of lung diseases.
Rheumatology
The Rheumatology Service is for people with conditions which primarily affect the joints, bones and muscles.
Safeguarding Adults
Our Safeguarding Adults team works in partnership with other local statutory bodies to safeguard those who are vulnerable and to address abuse in all its forms.
Safeguarding Children
The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to ensuring that it has in place systems to safeguard the welfare of children.
Sandra Chapman Centre
The Sandra Chapman Centre delivers care, support and treatment to patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions, including blood disorders and cancers.
Sleep and Lung Function Service
The Sleep and Lung Function Service provides various tests for assessing the lungs whilst awake and during sleep.
Stroke Services
The Stroke Service provides 24-hour access to stroke care, including access to clot busting treatment, Transient Ischaemic Attack (mini stroke) urgent outpatient clinics and post stroke care on the Stroke Unit.
Surgical Outpatients
Our Surgical Outpatients clinics mean you can be seen as quickly as possible without the need for an overnight stay.
Theatres
We have a number of operating theatres on site, both in our main hospital building and in our Orthopaedic Centre, which cater for elective and emergency surgery.
Transformation
Transformation of our services is about improving the quality of care, patient safety and the experience of patients while involving and supporting staff to enable them to feel empowered to create new ideas, identifying innovative practices or new ways of working.

We provide a modern comprehensive Urology service, providing both an elective and emergency service.
